Reverse DNS error

I’ve been testing mxroute for the last few months. Yesterday I sent a message to mail-tester[dot]com to check that my configuration was correct, and received the following:

Your IP address 216.55.103.248 is associated with the domain smtp4-out.mxroute.com .
Nevertheless your message appears to be sent from smtp-out4.mxroute.com .

Is there anything I can do about this ?

Thanks for catching that. It’s a bit crazy that it sat that way for that long without me seeing it. Admittedly almost all of the email going through it has been invalid though, so that’s probably why it never came up.

What is most interesting to me is that your email to mail-tester went out from there. It has to fail delivery from a relatively large number of IPs before ending up there. I’ll do some digging to see if I can find out what that is.

Thanks!

Thanks for the follow up Jarland. I appreciate it.
