I had configured this to be recognized as an alias along with + and _. So for example if you sent email to first-second@domain.com, it was delivered to first@domain.com, the “-second” was dropped. This was intended to address a desire for on the fly alias creation for inbound, as some customers like to make up aliases for services that they sign up with.
I’ve reverted this configuration for the “-” part.
Yeah I figured it was setup that way, what confused me is that I was allowed to create an email account with that format when it can’t be used.
